As of midnight, April 2, 2020, a “stay-at-home” order will be in effect for the State of Florida to combat the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, “real estate services” are defined as an essential service, so EDC Professional Home Inspections is still in operation.
In fact, I’ve fielded multiple calls from insurance companies requesting inspection reports after the large companies they typically do business with have shutdown. For homeowners, we’re still able to perform standard buyer inspections, but with extra precautions.
Normally, we encourage attendance during the home inspection, but at this time, we ask that our clients comply with social distancing measures and limit the amount of people in the house.
We will start by disinfecting commonly touched areas—such as knobs, switches, plumbing fixtures, pulls, and anywhere else we would need to touch during the course of the inspection. Additionally, we will take time throughout the inspection to clean and disinfect our hands to prevent the spread of the disease.
We hope that you and your family are keeping healthy and safe during these troubling times.
